How
long will I have to be in Physical Therapy?
Treatment
length varies for every patient and every condition. During
your initial evaluation, the therapist will create a treatment
plan and discuss with you the approximate frequency and duration
of treatment for your case.
What
will my Physical Therapy treatment involve?
Each
patient will receive a one hour initial evaluation. The therapist
will ask for your medical history, take measurements, and test
your muscle strength and ability. Depending on your condition,
your subsequent therapy may include stretching, massage, strength
training, weight lifting, and other modalities.
Do
I have to see my doctor for a prescription before I come to Physical
Therapy?
No.
Most patients do not need a prescription from their doctor to see
a physical therapist, but if you have seen the doctor, we will
work closely with them to communicate your progress. The Physical Therapy First staff will be happy to verify your
insurance benefits and determine if your insurance company requires
a physician referral before beginning treatment.
How
much will Physical Therapy cost?
Physical
Therapy is usually covered by your health insurance plan, leaving
you responsible for a small co-pay. Every insurance plan is different.
The Physical Therapy First staff will be
more than happy to call your insurance company for you to determine
your exact coverage before you begin treatment.
